Working with Amy at Greta-Mae Interior design was an amazing experience. We built a large detached coastal property in Abersoch overlooking the sea and I didn’t know where to begin with the interior. I particularly wanted to use a Welsh Interior Designer. I stumbled across Amy via a random an internet search. Amy came out very early into the build to take in the surroundings and get a flavour of the sort of things we liked and disliked in terms of colours/design. A scheme was devised and I think we chose 95% of what Amy suggested to totally design, decorate, and furnish the house. Even the electrical plan was designed by her. Amy took the time to understand what we were looking for and designed all of the spaces inside the house, taking it to the next level by working with coastal colours and paying attention to detail to giving us our dream interior. She brought so many ideas to the table, helped us make sensible decisions and was totally responsive to our needs. I feel blessed that we found Greta-Mae interiors and will be using Amy again to design for us again later in the year when we re-build our family home. I cannot recommend her enough.

Amy worked with us for nearly three years renovating a country house that was stuck in the 80s. She tackled 525 square metres including five bedrooms, five bathrooms, 4 living spaces and one kitchen not to mention the vast hall and corridor spaces. She skilfully managed to blend a pre-existing collection of antique furniture and contemporary art into a space that felt fresh and modern but appropriate to the Victorian building. Her mastery of colour also created an elegant scheme allowing spaces to flow off each other whilst retaining their individuality. For a project this long you had to enjoy working together and Amy was a joy to bring this house back to life with.

I first contacted Amy about my kitchen extension and general refurb of our ground floor a couple of years ago. I knew I wouldn’t have the time to spend hours trailing the internet for inspiration and more importantly I was concerned that my efforts would end up looking disjointed and not feel like my home. I needed someone who could integrate our modern extension into a period property and make it look seamless.

Having spent some time looking at different designers’ websites I didn’t feel I had found someone who had the kind of eclectic look I was trying to get.....and then I found the Greta Mae site! As soon as I saw Amy’s work on previous projects I knew I had found the person I needed to help me.

Amy is really comfortable coming in at the start of a project, when the only thing she has to work from are plans and ideas and works with these to create something really special.

I also really liked the way she has managed to create different cost models for her work as I think one of the main worries can be whether you can afford to get an interior designer’s help and whether they will be able to work within your budget.

Amy met with me before the build started and her help in thinking about lighting and breaking up the space were invaluable. The type of things that are often overlooked like what built in lighting to have, where to put switches and sockets as well as all the finishing touches like fabrics, rugs and furniture.

In an otherwise quite stressful project during a pandemic I was never worried that we were going to finish and I wouldn’t love the end product. She was always on hand to help with any questions or suggest new ideas.

I only wish I had found her before and I can’t wait to work with her again in the future. I would recommend her to anyone thinking of a new build, extension or just some new ideas.

To some, designing a coffee bar or any retail space might appear easy. It’s not. There are so many elements to think about that it’s sometimes difficult to see the wood for the trees which is why we approached Great-Mae to help. We hired them to help us translate our ideas and vision for our coffee bar into reality. They did and then some. From the first to the last customer of the day, it just feels right, more than the sum of its parts. We are so proud of what we managed to achieve but know that without Amy, we would never have managed it. Thank you Amy and Greta-Mae

In three words:
Professional
Inspiring
Perfect
My objective: To give our house extension the WOW factor. To inject some imagination whilst keeping the integral part of the house. To love living in both new and existing parts with our family and for the house to reflect us.
From the moment I met Amy she completely got my wave of thinking. She envisaged my end goal and had the imagination to put my ideas into reality.
Colour, style and design is at the fore front of her thoughts and she just brought everything together in the final stages of our build. Our extension is perfect, and it would defiantly not have had the same look or feel if we had not used greta mae’s expertise, which included an initial consultation, mood board presentation, online Pinterest board and seamless communication and messages between us.
If you are building, renovating or just wanting to update your home, getting greta mae on board will take all the worry, time and effort out of making your house, office or personal space a home.
Thank you so much greta mae!

We decided to modernise our home this year and the living room and dining room were the first rooms on the list to sort out. As we live in a victorian terrace house, the rooms are narrow and quite dark therefore it was essential to us that we maximised the space as much as possible with the decor as we didn’t want to make any structural changes. Although we had lots of ideas we needed some guidance on whether they would work and some advice on how best to work with the space available to us. Greta-Mae were recommended to us by a friend and so we decided to get in touch for a consultation. Amy was soon in our living room providing us with some focus and ideas of her own via a pinterest board which was really useful for us to refer to after our consultation. After the session we certainly felt more confident with what look we wanted to achieve and how we were going to do it. Amy recommended many things we could do to make the space feel bigger and we are certainly going to follow through with those. Whilst this was a small project for Amy she certainly put her time into providing us with ideas and has been super helpful following the consultation which is really appreciated. We would highly recommend hiring Greta-Mae if you need some guidance on modernising your home, we will definitely use them again in the future

I worked with greta-mae interiors when I was looking to design and furnish my apartment in Cardiff. We needed it to be homely and comfortable but also stylish whilst also appealing to a wider audience as we were planning on renting the property out when we weren’t using it. Amy from greta-mae interiors came up with a design that fitted the brief perfectly and we were happy to go with her recommendations on furniture and colours. Amy kept us up to date through the whole process and provided a very personable and friendly service. I would definitely recommend using greta-mae interiors if you are needing any help with your own home.

I was introduced to Amy through our shared business coach, but she has quickly become my go-to interior designer for expert advice for my editorial and commercial writing projects. She’s so knowledgeable of all things design - from lighting tricks to living with antiques, combining pattern to using colour – we’ve worked on some great editorial pieces together. Of course I love her flair and determination to go that extra mile to deliver a bespoke scheme for her clients, which, teamed with her infectious personality make her a pleasure to work with.

I recently bought an apartment with my husband, and we decided to completely renovate the entire property. Taking on such a big project is quite daunting for us having never done anything like this before, so we asked Amy to help us to design the property and bring our ideas and thoughts to life. We knew sort of what we wanted the property to look like, but we were struggling to imagine how it would look as a whole and had no idea where to find the pieces to bring the look together. After an initial consultation, Amy used our ideas to create design boards which gave us real inspiration for how the property could look, tying together our style using current pieces we own and adding new furniture to create a look that is stylish and modern yet very liveable
